How to make a homemade heating pad

There is nothing more soothing than the cozy warmth of a heating pad when you suffer from severe muscle pain. Since it always comes in handy, you can rely on a heating pad. However, good-quality electric heat pads come with a high price tag. So instead of making a trip to the store, you can make your version of heating pads at home without burning a hole in the pocket.
Homemade heating pad with rice
Things to use
- Uncooked rice- 7 cups
- Lavender oil- 4 to 6 drops
- Fabric cloth- 12 inches
- Scissors
- Thread and needle
Steps
- Cut the fabric cloth into two equal-sized rectangles and place one piece over the other
- Sew up three sides of the fabric, leaving one side open
- Fill two-third of the cloth bag with rice and add the lavender oil
- Sew the opening closed and heat your homemade rice heating pad in an oven or microwave for one minute before use
Easy homemade microwave heating pad
Materials required
- One tube sock
- Uncooked rice- 4 cups
- Essential oil- 3 drops
Procedure
- Fill the sock with rice until it is about 3/4 full and add the essential oil
- Tie a knot at the end of the sock and pull tight
- Place the sock in a microwave prior to use
Homemade heating pad without rice
Essentials
- Two small towels
- A zip-lock bag
- Water
Instructions
- Dip both the towels in water and squeeze out the excess water
- Put the wet towels into the zip-lock bag and place it in the microwave for 2-3 minutes
- Remove the bag and seal it before use
DIY homemade heat pad with cherry pits
Requirements
- Square piece of cloth- 14 inches
- Dried cherry pits
- Essential oil- 5 to 7 drops
- Scissors
- Thread and needle
Directions
- Fold the cloth in half and sew two of the two sides
- Pour the cherry pits into the bag and add the essential oil
- Sew the remaining side and heat the bag in a microwave for one minute before application
There is always a risk of an electric shock or fire with a store-bought heating pad. Even though homemade heating pads are heated in a microwave, it is not always necessary to use the same heating source. Using simple materials, you can prepare a comfortable heating pad at home and get quick relief from muscle pain.
