Easy DIY Dog Biscuit Recipe
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour – 2 ½ cups
- Pork or chicken Bouillon granules (or, pork or chicken broth/stock) – 1 tsp
- Egg – 1
- Hot water – ½ cup
- Salt – 3/4 to 1 tsp
How to make
Mix and dissolve the bouillon in hot water and add the other ingredients. After this, knead dough and roll it to make it ½ an inch thick and cut into slices. You can also use a cookie cutter to give them a bone shape. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and cook them for about 30 minutes on a lightly-greased cookie sheet.
Tips
- In case your dog is sensitive to wheat, you can use regular flour, or even oats.
- If you wish, you can also add bacon bits, bacon broth, shredded cheese, oats, liver powder, wheat germ.
Homemade Pumpkin Dog Biscuit Recipe
Ingredients
- Pumpkin (canned) – ½ cup
- Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
- Baking soda – ¼ tsp
- Baking powder – ¼ tsp
- Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
- Molasses – 4 tbsp
- Water – 4 tbsp
How to make
Take a large bowl and put the pumpkin, vegetable oil, molasses and water and mix well. When done, add the flour, baking powder and soda, and mix again, making a ball of dough. Mould small dough balls and place them one by one on a greasy cookie sheet, while flattening with a fork. Finally, preheat oven to 350 degrees and cook them for about 25 minutes, until balls are hard.
Dog Treat with Sweet Potato Biscuits
Ingredients
- Sweet potato (canned) – 1 cup
- Brown rice flour – 1¾ cups
- Egg – 1
How to cook
Take a big bowl and pour all the ingredients together, making a dough ball. Scoop out small round pieces and line them up on a cookie sheet by slightly pressing them to flatten like biscuits. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake until they turn brownish.
Tip
Add ½ a tsp of salt if you want to extend the shelf life of the biscuits.
Grain-free Dog Biscuits with Peanut Butter and Banana
Ingredients
- Peanut butter – ⅓ cup
- Banana (mashed) – ½
- Rice or coconut flour (as a grain free option) – 1 cup
- Almond milk (unsweetened) – ¼ cup
- Flax seed (ground) – 2 tbsp
How to cook
Transfer all the ingredients together in a bowl and start mixing until blended and smooth. Smear some flour on a surface and pour the mixture, spreading evenly all over the surface. Cut out your desired shape/s and keep aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and bake for around 20 minutes (or until golden brown).
Healthy Vegetarian Dog Biscuit Treat
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour – 1.5 cups
- Oats – 1 cup
- Carrot (shredded) – 1 cup
- Banana (ripe) – 1
- Apple sauce (unsweetened) – ¼ cup
- Water – ⅛ cup
How to bake
Mash both the carrots and the banana together and mix the apple sauce. Add the oats, the flour and make a dough ball and roll it to ½ inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes you like and place them on a cookie sheet. The baking process is the same as the above recipes. Leave the biscuits for a couple of hours inside the heated oven to ensure longer shelf life.
DIY Natural Dog Biscuits with Mint and Parsley
Ingredients
- Buckwheat flour – 1½ cups
- Parsley (chopped) – 4 tbsp
- Mint (chopped) – 2 tbsp
- Honey – 1 tbsp
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp
- Egg (beaten) – 1
- Water – 1-3 tsp
How to make
Take a bowl and mix the parsley and mint together with the flour. In another bowl, mix the honey and olive oil and combine this well with the previous mixture. Add the egg and mix again. Knead a ball of dough pouring in a spoonful of water every time, until you get a solid dough ball. Roll the dough until it is around a quarter inch thick. Cut it into desired shapes and bake them in a preheated oven (400 degrees F), placing them on a greasy baking sheet, for about 15-20 minutes. You are done with the biscuits!
Two-Ingredient Puppy Biscuit using Baby Food
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
- Pureed baby food (chicken, pork, blueberry, carrot, sweet potato, or any flavor) – 2 jars (4 oz. each)
How to make
Mix both the ingredients well in a bowl and make a stiff dough ball. Now, use a rolling pin to flatten the dough to ¼” thickness. Cut out shapes and place in a non-stick cookie paper. Bake like the process mentioned above. Serve these to your puppies and store the rest in an air-tight container.
Simple and quick DIY Dog Biscuits (bacon-flavored)
Ingredients
- Bacon fat (melted) – 10 tbsp
- Whole wheat flour – 5 cups
- Milk – 1 cup
- Eggs – 2
- Water – ½ cup
- Salt – ¾-1 tsp
How to make
Batter 2 eggs together in a bowl and add in the bacon fat, milk, water and the salt, mixing well. Knead a stiff ball of dough and pinch out small pieces. Flatten them and arrange on a greasy cookie sheet. Rest of the baking process is simple as above. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
Homemade flea repellent Dog Biscuits
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
- Garlic powder – 2 tbsp
- Pork bouillon – 3 cubes
- Cornmeal – 1 cup
- Brewers’ yeast – 2/3rd cup
- Egg yolks – 2
- Boiling water – 1½ cups
How to make
Add the pork cubes in boiling water and dissolve them. Mix the flour, cornmeal, yeast and powdered garlic together in a bowl. Pour in the yolks and mix again, adding the bouillon water, stirring constantly (to avoid lumps). Now make a hard dough ball and roll it to ¼ inch of thickness. Cut this into different shapes using a knife or cookie cutter. Transfer these into a greased cookie paper and bake inside your oven (preheated to 375 degrees F). Bake for around 20-25 minutes, until you find the biscuits brown enough to be crispy. When done, switch off your oven and leave them inside for a few hours. Your flea-repelling cookies are ready to serve!
